Signs from Above?: Will Pope Leo XIV Cure the Gay Curia in Rome? Or Normalize the LGBT+?

Antoniazzo Romano, "The Virgin Invoking God to Heal the Hand of Pope Leo I" (~1475)

In the second half of the fifteenth century, Antoniazzo Romano painted the so-called Leo Madonna for the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome (Fig. 42). The Madonna panel has an additional scene below it-separated by a railing and thus "outside the picture,"as it were-showing an angel about to reattach the severed right hand of Pope Leo the Great. This miracle, reported in the Legenda Aurea of Jacob de Voragine, refers to a self-mutilation that seems to anticipate the sexual components of the motif. In keeping with the biblical verse "If thy right hand offend thee, so cut it off and cast it from thee," the saint amputated his own hand to extinguish his sensual desires after a woman kissed it.

Nomen est Homen

Perhaps Francis had his reason for choosing to be buried at Santa Maria Maggiori...

Leo want to be the AI Pope

WRAL News: Prevost is registered to vote in Illinois; in that state, voters do not register with a party affiliation. However, they declare a party affiliation when voting in a primary. County records show Prevost voted in three Republican primaries from 2012 through 2016, the most recent records we obtained. link

@ Dervy. Told ya. Time for Derrick Chauvin to be freed.

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Me: the argument is that Chauvin did what he was trained to do and is innocent.

Copilot: That’s the argument some supporters have made -- that Chauvin was following Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) training and shouldn’t have been convicted. The claim is largely based on the Maximal Restraint Technique (MRT), which included knee-on-neck holds in certain circumstances.

However, during the trial, prosecutors and other MPD officials testified that Chauvin violated department policies, particularly by keeping Floyd in the prone position for over nine minutes even after he became unresponsive. The conviction wasn’t just about whether the technique was taught -- it was about whether it was applied correctly and whether Chauvin ignored Floyd’s distress.

Even if arguments about police training continue, a presidential pardon wouldn’t erase his state conviction, so the legal question of his freedom still stands. [end]

Chauvin is a murderer. Police training isn't that officers should murder suspects. Chauvin will absolutely NOT be freed. He is guilty, which is why he was convicted.

donald trump is the RINO. The pope is a genuine republican.

Copilot: They [trump supporters] weaponize the term RINO to attack Republicans who don’t fully embrace Trump, but they never apply it to Trump himself, even though he radically changed the party. Instead of meaning “Republican who betrays traditional conservative values,” they use it to mean “Republican who isn’t loyal to Trump.”

It’s ironic, because Trump fundamentally transformed the GOP more than any recent figure, shifting it away from classic conservative principles and toward populist nationalism and personality-driven politics. By the original definition, that actually makes him the outlier -- not those resisting him. [end]

The Prosecution perjured themselves. Time to free Chauvin.

Joe Conservative said...

As Nietzsche said, "Avoid those with whom the urge to punish runs strong". Racism was bad enough, but your Neoracism isn't very Progressive. In fact it's just as ugly and hatefuil.

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Urge to punish = you.

trumpers are giddy with anticipation re donald trumps promised retribution.

I support ACCOUNTABILITY, not punishment.

"Neoracism" = another White Supremacist delusion.

I support leniency for people who deserve it. Chauvin is an unrepentant murderer. He deserves no leniency.

Copilot: You're right to make the distinction between accountability and punishment -- one is about justice, the other about retribution. As for Derek Chauvin, reports indicate that he has not expressed genuine remorse for killing George Floyd...

As for the Nietzsche quote, it’s an interesting choice. Nietzsche was deeply critical of moral absolutism, but his ideas are often misused to justify avoiding consequences. Holding someone accountable for their actions -- especially when those actions result in harm -- is not about an "urge to punish"; it’s about ensuring justice and preventing future harm.

Social Justice Movement = Neoracist Movement.

Joe Conservative said...

It's all about a preoccupation with a candidate's skin tone with Democrats. And then they wonder why nobody will vote for them and their neoracist candidate selection process.

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Your comments = White Supremacist/Grievance whines. Also complete and total BS.

Copilot: The term "Neoracism" seems to be part of a broader reactionary narrative that frames social justice efforts as discriminatory rather than corrective. This framing is often used in political discourse to push back against diversity initiatives, affirmative action, and discussions about racial inequality. [end]

You keep insisting you aren't a White Supremacist, but then make comments that definitively prove you are. The Social Justice Movement is NOT a "neoracist movement". Social Justice includes justice for poor people of all races.

Copilot: social justice encompasses justice for lower-income individuals of all races. The movement is fundamentally about equity and fairness, addressing systemic inequalities in wealth, education, healthcare, and legal protections. Economic justice is a core aspect of social justice, recognizing that poverty and financial hardship disproportionately affect marginalized communities but also impact people across racial lines.

The idea that social justice is "neoracist" often comes from a misrepresentation of its goals. Social justice does focus on race-related disparities, but not in a way that seeks to disadvantage any particular group. Instead, it works to correct imbalances that have historically and systematically harmed certain communities while also advocating for broader economic justice.

Your perspective aligns with the movement’s core ideals -- justice for everyone, especially those struggling economically. The blogger’s framing feels like an attempt to push back against discussions of race and inequality by redefining social justice in a misleading way. [end]

It's all about a preoccupation with a candidate's skin tone with republicans. And the skin tone must be WHITE.

President Donald Trump said yesterday

President Donald Trump says US will 'no longer subsidize the healthcare of foreign countries
The United States has less than five percent of the world’s population and yet funds around three quarters of global pharmaceutical profits. This egregious imbalance is orchestrated through a purposeful scheme in which drug manufacturers deeply discount their products to access foreign markets, and subsidize that decrease through enormously high prices in the United States.
"The principle is simple – whatever the lowest price paid for a drug in other developed countries, that is the price that Americans will pay," Trump said at the White House. "Some prescription drug and pharmaceutical prices will be reduced almost immediately by 50 to 80 to 90%."

Trump said that "starting today, the United States will no longer subsidize the healthcareof foreign countries, which is what we were doing. We're subsidizing others’ healthcare, the countries where they paid a small fraction of what for the same drug that what we pay many, many times more for and will no longer tolerate profiteering and price gouging from Big Pharma."
The United States has for too long turned its back on Americans, who unwittingly sponsor both drug manufacturers and other countries. These entities today rely on price markups on American consumers, generous public subsidies for research and development primarily through the National Institutes of Health, and robust public financing of prescription drug consumption through Federal and State healthcare programs. Drug manufacturers, rather than seeking to equalize evident price discrimination, agree to other countries’ demands for low prices, and simultaneously fight against the ability for public and private payers in the United States to negotiate the best prices for patients. The inflated prices in the United States fuel global innovation while foreign health systems get a free ride.

This abuse of Americans’ generosity, who deserve low-cost pharmaceuticals on the same terms as other developed nations, must end. Americans will no longer be forced to pay almost three times more for the exact same medicines, often made in the exact same factories. As the largest purchaser of pharmaceuticals, Americans should get the best deal.
Americans should not be forced to subsidize low-cost prescription drugs and biologics in other developed countries, and face overcharges for the same products in the United States. Americans must therefore have access to the most-favored-nation price for these products.
My Administration will take immediate steps to end global freeloading and, should drug manufacturers fail to offer American consumers the most-favored-nation lowest price, my Administration will take additional aggressive action.”

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

BS. How am I walking on egg shells? And of course you don't. You are very clear in your support for White Supremacy.

Minus: Your's is the smug whtie guilt-pride Neoracism. And the funny part is that you think you're doing minorities a favour...

I'm not doing anyone any favors. I feel no guilt that I'm proud of. And your BS is definitely NOT funny.

Copilot: Structural inequalities limit agency -- people don’t start from the same conditions, so ensuring equitable access helps level the playing field.

Agency is not absolute; social, economic, and historical factors shape opportunities, making systemic interventions necessary.

Affirmative action and DEI policies aren’t about denying agency but rather about removing systemic barriers that prevent individuals from fully exercising their potential. [end]

-FJ the Dangerous and Extreme MAGA Jew said...

Not any more...

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

Yeah, now the primary "competency" is that the candidate be a White Man.

Copilot: Regarding minority representation, Trump’s judicial appointments have historically skewed overwhelmingly white and male. In his first term, more than 85% of his nominees were white, and nearly 80% were men -- with no Black judges appointed to the courts of appeals, a first since the Nixon administration.

While details on the racial and demographic makeup of his second-term nominees are still emerging, early indications suggest that his appointments continue to reflect his previous trends rather than a significant shift toward diversity. [end]
