Anders Hagstrom, "Democratic National Committee panel voids David Hogg's election as party vice chair"Democratic officials deny the vote against Hogg was political
The Democratic National Convention voted to void its election of David Hogg as vice chair of the Democratic Party on Monday.
The vote comes after mounting internal criticism of Hogg, though party officials say the vote was based on a procedural challenge made in February claiming Hogg and another official were improperly elected. The DNC will vote later this year on whether to remove Hogg.
"Today, the DNC took its first steps to remove me from my position as Vice Chair At-Large. While this vote was based on how the DNC conducted its officers’ elections, which I had nothing to do with, it is also impossible to ignore the broader context of my work to reform the party which loomed large over this vote," Hogg said in a statement reacting to the vote.
Monday's vote also ousted Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta as DNC vice chair. Christine Pelosi, a member of the credentials committee and daughter of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., argued the vote was not in reaction to their performance.
"First, I want to say clearly and explicitly that this decision has nothing to do with the service of any DNC officer, especially [Hogg] or [Kenyatta]. This is about a violation of parliamentary procedure that was raised in a challenge filed back in February by another candidate for Vice Chair."
"I think I speak for all of us on the Committee when I say I hope both of these talented individuals put their names on the ballot again," she said. "We’ll move fast to get this resolved. I have total faith in our DNC members to review this issue and vote their conscience."
Hogg's potential removal comes after he announced plans to spend $20 million to primary older Democratic lawmakers in blue districts to make room for new Democratic leaders.
Hogg clashed with veteran Democratic strategist James Carville over the plan during a joint appearance on journalist Tara Palmeri’s podcast.
Carville criticized it as "abominable" and "jacka--ery of the highest level" for prioritizing pushing out Democrats over beating Republicans. Hogg shot back that the party is capable of both. Carville demanded Hogg focus on winning elections against the GOP.
Hogg insisted that the point of his strategy is to "win elections."
James Carville & David Hogg
Here we go again! The DNC removing/ appointing leaders like Joe Biden & Kamala Harris!

Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris were appointed. They were chosen by the voters.
FYI, "The full DNC body still needs to vote on whether to accept the Credentials Committee’s recommendation to void the election. If the broader committee rejects the challenge, the original election results -- including David Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta as vice chairs -- would remain in place".
David Hogg has not been "removed" -- yet. If the election is voided he could be elected again.
The DNC FORCED Biden to Step down and then APPOINTED (in secret) Kamala as his successor. it's a very "Open Society" process...
...but I'm sure that the DNC's political 'experts' know what's best for the party. Who needs "votes" to do anything more than AFFIRM the expert's decisions?
James is a very shrewd operator, after all. I trust his UniParty wife most of all.
I hear she switched to the "Libertarian" party in 2016 when Trump got the nomination...
Unlike her husband, she does exhibit a modicum of intellectual integrity thereby.
Minus: ...and then APPOINTED (in secret) Kamala as his successor.
No. The voters chose her as part of the Biden/Harris ticket.
The RNC should have forced out the RINO d0n0ld. He has destroyed the republican party. It's now the Fascist White Supremacist party.
Poor Dervish! The mud slinging in your party has made you quite uptight? Don't worry. There's plenty of pig slop to go around.
In the defense of your party, Dervish, I must say that "Boss Hogg" is getting unfairly fired by the mud slinging going on in your party. I certainly hope Boss Hogg gets what he wants. Baldo Jimmuh Carville set your party up to fail Bigly. And now, he's looking for someone to blame and gore. There seems to be an artificial shortage of popcorn at this moment, as MSNBC & CNN scramble to hide the political drama going on in your Communist Democratic Party, Dervish.
By the way, your hatred for Abraham Lincoln's principles keeps backfiring in your face, Dervish.
She won the Presidential Primary? Who knew? Did Tim Waltz?
Minus: She won the Presidential Primary?
Yep. She won when Joe Biden won.
Mystere: I must say that "Boss Hogg" is...
His first name is David, not "Boss", dipshit. Though "Boss" as a first name isn't as embarrassing as your real first name, which is "upThe".
No she didn't. She won the Vice-Presidential primary. She got zero primary votes for President.
Kamala Harris received 14+ million votes in the primary. Given that every vote for Joe Biden to be the nominee (and president for another term if elected) was a vote for Kamala Harris to take his place if necessary. Clearly you unfamiliar with the Constitution. Check out the 25th amendment.
She received 14 million votes for her to be VICE president. And the 25th Amendment has no bearing on the DNC.
If her legitimacy rested on the 25th Amendment, the 25th Amendment would have had to be invoked. It wasn't. Joe Biden completed his entire term of office. Any votes she got in the Primary, were for the office of VICE president.
Minus: She received 14 million votes for her to be VICE president. And the 25th Amendment has no bearing on the DNC.
She received 14 million votes as part of the Biden/Harris ticket. The DNC has nothing to do with what the 25th amendment says.
Minus: If her legitimacy rested on the 25th Amendment, the 25th Amendment would have had to be invoked. It wasn't.
WHY would it be "invoked"? That's moronic. The 25th amendment says the VP replaces the president if necessary, but they didn't need to invoke it. They only adhered to presidential succession as per the 25th amendment.
If Joe Biden had "invoked" the 25th amendment to make Kamala Harris the nominee, you'd have cited that as evidence of dementia.
Minus: Joe Biden completed his entire term of office. Any votes she got in the Primary, were for the office of VICE president.
You think that the primary voters could have kicked her off the ticket by voting for someone else to be VP? "I'll take Joe as the presidential nominee, but I want someone else as the VP nominee"???
The primary voters chose the Biden/Harris ticket -- with the understanding that Harris could replace Biden if necessary. Which is what happened, only not during a presidential term. Which is a distinction I don't give a shit about. And I don't give a shit that you, as a non-Democrat, have a problem with it.
FYI, if they had tried to make Michelle Obama the nominee (as you were POSITIVE would happen) then that would have been improper procedure. The only legitimate option (without rerunning the primary) was to have Kamala Harris step in. Totally above-board, IMO. Given that the primary voters chose her. She was MORE legit as the replacement this time. Initially she was chosen by Joe Biden (as per the standard procedure) with no input from the primary voters. This time (given that the Biden/Harris ticket was running for a second term) that made her the super-legit replacement candidate.
Since Biden wasn't "on" the ticket, she obtained all those so-called "votes" under false pretenses. She executed a bait & switch. No one who voted for the ticket voted for her to LEAD it. The authoritarian party got an authoritarian candidate. Just like the David Hogg "invalidation".
...and the Wikileaks/ Bernie Sanders primary rigging for Hillary in 2016.
...but hey, why would anyone suspect Democrats of rigging or cheating tio win other elections? @@
Minus: No one who voted for the ticket voted for her to LEAD it.
EVERY SINGLE ONE of the primary voters voted for her to lead the ticket.
