Maybe the Illinois bar should have continued to prosecute the case against Obama and thereby prevented his ever attempting to regain his law license in the future. But then that wouldn't have been allowed because it makes no sense, unlike the impeachment of a FORMER president. :)
A January 15 Congressional Research Service report notes that while the Constitution "does not directly address" the issue, most scholars have concluded that Congress does have the authority to impeach and convict a former President :P

I don't have the authority to arrest anyone. And the "stop the steal" stupidity got a permit. Because the right to protest peacefully is protected.
