FYI, "Legal experts warn that executing RIFs without proper funding, due process, or statutory justification could violate federal law and constitutional protections for public employees" (Via Copilot).aka more lawsuits.
When I worked at the shipyards we used to RIF thousands of union workers 1-2x a year. We never got sued.
