Largely agree. Just about every company I've worked for had HR personnel that couldn't answer questions that should have been in their wheelhouse (When do changes to my insurance benefits start? Where's my W-2 forms? Why am I still receiving HSA and debit cards for a job I quit 6 years ago?) but could walk the floor in search of Covid mask mandate "violators" and interrupt their business-related phone calls to bitch at them, while they are trying to do their job, about them exposing their mouths for a few seconds to take a sip of coffee.
Such interruptions are sometimes appropriate (Hey the building is on fire! There's a swarm of murder hornets heading this way! etc ) but for the most part, HR staff are as useless as teats on a boat hog.
How exactly does one become a "diversity consultant" anyway?
In 2020, the US was more diverse than it was in 2010. In 2020, the white (non-Hispanic) group made up 59.7% of the population compared with 63.8% in 2010.
Between 2010 and 2020, the share of the population that is Hispanic/Latino grew the most, increasing 2.2 percentage points to 18.6%. The white (non-Hispanic) population had the largest decrease< dropping 4.1 percentage points to 59.7%.
