ReplyDeleteThe UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, have been working hand in hand with the Los Angeles Times, dropped one of their “surveys” this week showing Becerra crushing Steve Hilton 55% to 37% among the likely voters, with only 7% undecided. Before you nod along and assume the race is over, ask yourself who benefits from you believing that, and Who Paid for the Poll telling you that?.
Supposingly these so called Pollsters started with a pool of 4,207 registered voters, then whittled it down to a sample of 2,310 people they deemed likely voters, all gathered between August 3 and 9, with a claimed margin of error of 2.5 points. Compare that to a Berkeley IGS poll from late May that had Becerra ahead 52% to 31%. Depending on which outlet you read, Becerra either padded his lead or actually lost ground since an earlier June survey put him up by 25 points. Nobody in the coverage seems bothered that the “previous poll” keeps changing depending on which comparison makes the newest number look more dramatic. That is not sloppiness. That is narrative management.
Berkeley IGS is not some neutral research shop floating above the fray. It is a university institute partnered with the Los Angeles Times, an outlet that has never pretended to be anything but a reliable ally of the Democratic Party in statewide races. IGS Poll Director Mark DiCamillo told reporters that Progressives and the Democratic Socialist, Communists who backed other candidates in the primary have now flocked to Becerra, and, by his own admission, it has less to do with any enthusiasm for Becerra himself than with a blanket dismissal of the Republican Party as a whole. That is a pollster explaining the psychology of the electorate to justify his own numbers. Convenient, isn’t it?.But look at what they didn’t tell you! Hilton may very well lose in November. remember that California has not elected a Republican Governor since 2006, and the state’s voter registration numbers favor the Democrats by nearly 20 points. But that is a separate question from whether a poll released in August by a university partnered with a partisan newspaper deserves to be treated as gospel. It does not.Progressive pollsters are not lying about every number, but they are absolutely picking which numbers to emphasize and when to release them.
A poll is a product built for a client, and in these cases, the client is a media outlet with a Vested Interest. Trust the sample size. Question the timing. Always ask who benefits from you believing the race is already over, It Is Not!
On the eve before the Tremendous Loss of Abdul El-Sayed the Controversial Lefty with the Big Mouth Hasan Piker, who once claimed that “America deserved 9/11” delivered his final speech reflecting on this “Country’s Flaws.”

I still remember Hasan Piker saying “If you look at what happened with Trump, you had a whole bunch of like center-right people realize that they had no home in the party that they destroyed. And then they all came to our party and [are] trying to tell us what our party ought to be,” El-Sayed reflected in response.
El-Sayed’s affiliation with Piker has drawn lots of criticism due to the streamer’s history of spewing Hateful Rhetoric.
Earlier this year, Piker tpld us that, “if you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott.”
He has also claimed that the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel was a “Direct Consequence” of the Jewish State’s Actions and That If They Engaged in Rape, it “Doesn’t Change the Dynamic for Me. Nice isn’t it?
So My Warning to all was, Watch out for this Abdul El-Sayed candidate for the Michigan Senator.

The chances are great that it was an Illegal Immigrant or a Muslim sympathizer.
