Who will Win the Palme d'Or in '24?

Decision on Saturday!

Anora, a comic yet devastating film about a sex worker's marriage, wins Palme d'Or at Cannes. Sean Baker's Anora, a comic but devastating Brooklyn odyssey about a sex worker who marries the son of a wealthy Russian oligarch, has won the Cannes Film Festival's top award, the Palme d'Or.
...For nothing can possibly be more satisfying to a Progressive than demeaning the marriage tradition and sh*tting on Tradwives everywhere. Hurray for feminism!  A win for workers everywhere!
ooops.  I meant a win for capitalists everywhere.  Bring on the immigrants!

  1. No comments from Dervy or his boyfriend Mikey Perquinn?

  2. Where did you get the name "Mikey" from? That isn't the name on that account.

  3. The girl movies? Or the Trump-bash one?

  7. Not in the Hollywood, Q. Cisgen sex has become seen as "insensitive" towards gays, and gay sex has kept audiences away.

  8. ...and sometimes, direct speech (or visuals) don't suit the social relationship type. Hence "innuendo". Hence "indirect" speech... and "indirect" movies.

  9. We're seeing the end of exotericism and the dawning of a new, more esoteric age. :)

  10. Minus: Not in the Hollywood ... Cisgen sex has become seen as "insensitive" towards gays...

    What absurd BS.

Minus: ...and gay sex has kept audiences away.

    No.

New research by Monash University, published in the Journal of Business Ethics, has found that movies with LGBT-inclusive representation significantly outperform those with no LGBT representation when it comes to box-office revenue.

“In analysing the films, we classified all movies into three categories – non-LGBT movies, LGBT-inclusive movies, and LGBT-themed movies. LGBT-inclusive movies are those that include LGBT characters or plots, but do not make them the main focus or theme of the movie,” says Yimin Cheng, a senior lecturer at the Monash Business School.

“Our findings, analysing 4126 films, show that LGBT-inclusive movies earned a staggering 29% more revenue at the box office than movies with no LGBT content. link

"Correlation is not causation" means that just because two things correlate does not necessarily mean that one causes the other. As a seasonal example, just because people in the UK tend to spend more in the shops when it's cold and less when it's hot doesn't mean cold weather causes frenzied high-street spending.

  12. Sure, Dervy, who doesn't enjoy seeing a bunch of naked lesbians rolling around the movie screen. But nobody wants to see naked men doing the same. Nobody is going to go see THAT movie.

  13. Here's to keeping lgbtq+ esoteric. Want to watch gay porn? Watch the LGBTQ+ channel. I'll be at the cisgen site.

    1. I'm sitting at home today, watching TV, eating great barbecue, cake pops and marshmallow wands for dessert.

    2. "marshmallow wands" are what you call guys d!cks, Mystere? This is definitely one of those "self revealing" comments.

I have zero interest in gay porn. I definitely do NOT want to watch it. Maybe Minus does.

Most movies with gay male characters aren't R or X rated. Gay male characters exist in movies where the character doesn't get naked with another guy.

As for correlation not equaling causation, that is what Minus claimed. Gay male characters in a movie caused moviegoers to stay away. That is proven false by the information I provided. So, thank you for agreeing with me, Qtard.

  14. Dervish's mama was a sex worker who became pregnant with Dervish by accident. His deranged blog site is created and named in shameless disgrace of his mama: Whoz Yo Mama

    ReplyDelete
  15. You'd have no way of knowing even if that bullplop is true. Which it isn't. Maybe it is true about your mother?

btw, another blog locked (due to your false reporting) has been reevaluated and unlocked. After an extended period of time. During which I requested reevaluations a half dozen times, at least. And they never said what content caused any of blogs to be flagged to begin with.

Your attempts to get my blogs deleted have failed, Mystere.

Though I now definitely think Google mods are stone cold idiots. Or (more likely) this moderation is all being handled by algorithms. Algorithms that definitely need improvement. Given that Mystere's PROVEN false allegations should never have caused my blogs to be locked to begin with.

Allegations proven false by the fact that they were reinstated.

  16. So when's your next appearance on Ru Paul's Drag Race, Derv?

    ReplyDelete
  17. When was my last appearance? What was the name of the drag performer you think was me? I don't watch it so I wouldn't know. You seem to be a BIG fan.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I've never seen it, but if you'd tell me when your next appearance will be, I might. You could use a good heckling. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have never seen either. Either by watching it on TV, or by appearing on the show itself. I am not a drag performer, so they would not want me on the program. I don't want to be on the program. Though, it doesn't bother me that the program exists. Obviously it bothers you very much. Due to your h0mophobia/transph0bia/ph0bias concerning people who aren't like you. I DON'T care. I have no interest in it so I don't watch it.

There was a segment once on James Cordon's Late Late Show where guys dressed up like the Queen (because he's British, I guess). I didn't get it. They got guys who worked for the show to participate. I don't know why a guy (who isn't a drag performer) would want to do that. It was weird. I didn't like it.

I am not aware of any that want to. You can cite an example? But, no, I would not be opposed. I don't know why you would be. Isn't it your thing to oppose trans women from participating in women's sports? You posted those JP Sears videos where he mocks the idea.

  23. Can men have babies Dervy?

    What's a woman?

    ReplyDelete
  24. A few years ago it wasn't even a question. Re-defining "woman" was a bad idea, but obviously one you support. Because you're an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well... women pumped up with testosterone WAS used. In sport.

So... what's the problem, Doc? ;-P

Women CAN be pumped up with testosterone... and men CANNOT be, with estrogen? ;-P

That is just a question of doping, by now.
