Orwell's "Notes on Nationalism" - Anti-Semitism

  2. I find the links between anti-semitism and racism interesting... especially the way DuBois invokes the 'American' experience (as opposed to Orwell's UK experiences), especially as it relates to "identity".

    I came across an interesting observation by Deleuze as well, how in Whitman's day we Americans saw ourselves as more "fragmentary" and with a more "spontaneous comraderie" the Europeans, who saw themselves as more "whole". Our social "relations" (between social fragments) were likely much more salubrious and befitting our national character then, un-totalized by a moralizing elite.
